Misleading customers with their card benefits

I had applied for Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card like around 1 month back, and I kept using that. I didn't know about welcome benefits like the 500rs Flipkart voucher on any transaction on Flipkart.

The real issue -

Today I received a message from Flipkart Support stating -

\*Important Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card Benefit Update\*

Thank you for choosing Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card.

Your card's welcome benefits expire by 5th June 2026, see more details here:

Now when I clicked on the link I got to know about these benefits, so I ordered something from Flipkart. I waited and didn't get my card voucher. I called Axis Bank, and they mentioned since my card didn't have joining fee and it's annual fee, this offer is applicable for people who applied for the card with joining fee. I didn't get any option to choose the card with joining fee or annual fee. It was a straightforward process. Then I questioned as to why I received this message. Initially she said you can ignore it, then I mentioned that's false marketing. If I was not eligible, why share the message saying it expires on **5th June?** She asked me to contact Flipkart instead, which I did.

The Flipkart support, she was literally arrogant and RUDE! (I work in customer success as well, and there's a decorum to speak to customers, so I know how it gets when people are frustrated) This woman, from the initial get go, had like a "I don't care about your issues, deal with it" tone. Still, I continued asking, and now this person was telling me I had to make a transaction within 30 days of card being approved, which I didn't do, so I won't receive the benefit. I was like okay, but then my question comes, why this message from your end stating I can avail before 5th June? She kept repeating the same thing that as per policy you have to make a purchase within 30 days of card approval, which I didn't do, and to ignore that message? IGNORE! message was titled at the start as **IMPORTANT**. She was like we will not send any more messages, kindly ignore this and was looking to hang up the call itself.

She then kept twisting and mentioned I was not listening properly, and added that I **will get** my voucher within 30 days now. I was like what are you trying to say?

First she mentioned I was not eligible, now she's saying I'll get my voucher within 30 days. Please tell clearly. She just kept playing me down and saying I'm not understanding what she's trying to say.

I asked what does this message mean then? That it expires on 5th June. She was like, I don't know, you can ignore the message, and cut the call.

If my benefits had already expired, which I was okay with, why on earth would you tell me then with a message saying it will only expire on **5th June 2026?** That makes no sense at all!
