I have been wondering for so long about these creatures. They are barely mentioned in the game, look really weird, they swarm by the hundreds.
First of all, they are found in Fishman Island, Cheaters Run, The Pits and The Pits East. (There might be more spawn locations, not fully sure). They have relatively low stats however they have really high limb hp.
The basic Gurglers have 150 hp on each limb and 200 on their legs. They also the race Alpha Gurglers which has a whopping 300hp on each limb.
They fight unarmed with martial arts, however I think lore wise they are supposed to be using their claws like wild animals. They probably just reuse the animations for budget reasons but It's still something to bring up.
They have some sort of feudalistic society with their "King Gurgler" found in the "Island Lab", he is clearly their boss as if he goes away all Gurglers suddenly disapear. However this is strange aswell, Why do they all go away if their leader disapears? Why don't they just get a new one? This means the King does something necessary for them to stay around.
There is the possibility that they just retreat into the ocean or something but it's still really weird. This also makes me wonder why they take over the city and the Lab if they are so animal-like. Animals find shelter all the time so it makes sense for the lab, but why take over a walled city with no shelter left. It's also really strange behaviour, it makes me wonder if they are more intelligent than meets the eye.
King Gurgler also uses a Meitou Combat Cleaver, meaning that the Gurglers can use weapons and the King can use one quite proficently, not only that but using a high grade one knowing that it's stronger than any old sword means that he maybe thinks of what he uses in combat.
The Gurglers have similar behaviour to the fogmen, kidnapping and eating people but they also have hundreds of fish lying around in crates, possibly to eat. These fishes in crates are not Gurglers btw because they have eggs lying around.
That's just some observations i have taken in while looking around in kenshi, they are really interesting to me for some reason idk why.
