DM - RVP Visit
Objectives for the store manager:
Review EBITDA’s action plan for this month.
Review Comp Loss poster, walk us through it, next steps, etc.
Review Spring Cleaning Checklist
Review OP5 binder, are you writing notes? Let’s go over those notes and talk about them.
Show me your 3x3 notes
Show me documentation on your OSA owners, did you address with each one every single department not scanned?
OSA - Red carts, etc. (are your stupid red cart sheets filled up and graded?
Before a DM and RVP visit you have to spend a day in the office filling shit up. Let’s just sit here for 2 hours and talk about stupid shit, let’s go over Action Plans that you created because you knew we were coming but don’t help in any way. I’m sorry but I can write improve LTR, OOS, DPU, promote immunizations, etc as much as you want with a detailed plan but if we lost some major insurance companies this year there is nothing I can do to recover from such a blow, even if I dedicate myself to only doing that and let the rest of the store get destroyed.
Let’s stop pretending that we have the budget to write down 20,000 plans when we actually struggle to finish basic stuff like truck and reset.
Your visit adds stress and it’s a major waste of time. Let’s focus on productivity and efficiency, let’s focus on bringing in hot and trendy products, let’s connect with the team members and make it a positive visit. I put in an insane amount of hours before each visit and my team feels the pressure and feels my stress and work their ass off to make things happen…. But the visits are based on opportunities and they make sure to let you know everything that’s fucked up with your store, even if the store looks absolutely amazing…. And all this comes from folks that were Store Managers a long time ago with a massive budget and have no idea wha it is to survive with a skeleton crew, let alone have a great-looking store.
We need more hours, can’t write 3x3 or any kind of action plan if there’s no one that can work on it, let’s be real Walgreens. You should be happy and congratulating every store that puts the truck away, completes resets, does scan outs to continue replenishment, store looks great and team members are providing great service. You want me to save money and spray paint the trash cans outside myself? You are out of your mind, I will open a ticket and they will charge the store a ridiculous amount of money, probably enough to pay a CSA for a week… but hey, you all know better than those of us at store level.
Stay in your offices, find another way to justify your position, don’t come harass us at the stores. Maybe go and have a 2hr meeting with the HR Generalist for the region (or whatever they are called these days) and discuss Glint survey results and dedicate a whole day to creating a spreadsheet with exception stores and what not.
Good God.
