Need advice about deep bite plate
Hi guys, I am male 21 years old and I have discovered mewing now and am starting to see that benefits of mewing are not exaggerated through this subReddit.
I was getting orthodontic treatment and they have me wearing a deep bite plate like the one in the attached image.
The purpose of this is to grow my molars vertically and fix the deep bite issue that i have, I have a combination of deep bite, upper teeth overjet and a mildly recessed mandible that dentist seem to just ignore because it is not significantly recessed. I do have sleep problems as well where I wake up tired and need naps in the afternoon evening, but nothing severe.
I wanted to know if I continuing this treatment and getting braces would affect mewing progress. Also from what I have figured out there is still lots of potential for bone growth after 21 years what do you guys think about that?
If some knowledgeable dentist in orthotropics could guide me it would be really helpful 🫡.
I would have visited a orthotropic clinic but I live in a country where none of this is available and dentist just want to straighten my teeth with extraction (which I am really against) and rake in the money.
