How many first-author Q1 papers would you consider average, and how many would be considered truly exceptional during a PhD?

My university's graduation requirement is two first-author Q2 papers, which seems reasonable and attainable. However, my supervisor expects six first-author Q1 papers before graduation, which feels extremely ambitious to me.

I'm curious about the norms across different fields and universities. For a typical PhD graduate, how many first-author Q1 papers would be considered:

-Average performance?

-Exceptional performance?
