I am a firm believer in building good trade relations with fellow managers. I don't mind rejecting a trade straight up with no counter, but I might enquire why just to gain what your valuations are like. I'm always going to trade with people who's valuations aren't always an overpay and who actually respond to offers. Sometimes our values in the moment are so vast we just can't get something done and that is ok, but at least we tried. People who just leave trades sitting with no replies who never trade unless they're extracting massive overpays, etc I won't even talk to them about a deal.
