Grip question - hook grip?

I have somewhat long arms(my wingspan is 6cm longer than my height) so I’m trying to bench with the max legal width, which is index finger covering the ring for those not familiar with ipf rules, but I find when I use a normal grip my fingers dig into my palms and force my grip open slightly, and when I use bulldog grip i cant get my thumb to grip the bar very well and my hands slip outwards a lot. This also happens when I use close grip.

Lately Ive been doing a hook grip(yes, the deadlift grip used but pulling and not really used for pushing). it’s stopped my hands slipping outwards and feels very strong and comfortable. I’m wondering if anyone knows if this a legal way to grip the bench in the ipf? and if anyone knows a better grip i could use that would be greatly appreciated.
