One Sci-Fi Movie every night #1: The Platform

Tonight's movie was The Platform.

I don't even know if "enjoyed" is the right word because this movie just made me uncomfortable for most of its runtime.

The idea is so simple, but the longer it goes on, the more messed up it feels. What really got me wasn't the violence or the shock factor, it was seeing how quickly people change when they're put in a system that feels unfair.

There were a couple of moments where I caught myself thinking, "Yeah, I'd definitely do better than these people," and then five minutes later I wasn't so sure anymore.

The movie also drops a small piece of information about how the prison works that completely changed the way I looked at everything that came after it. That's when I realized this wasn't just a survival movie.

It's weird, frustrating, and sometimes hard to watch, but it's definitely one of those movies that stays in your head after the credits roll.

Anyone else spend way too much time thinking about this movie after watching it?

Life of Pi left me thinking about the ending then I expected

I thought Life of Pi was going to be a simple survival story, but it turned out to be so much more than that.

The visuals are obviously incredible, but what really surprised me was how emotional and personal the journey felt. Watching Pi survive day after day with a tiger on a tiny lifeboat somehow never stopped being interesting.

There were a few moments where I genuinely forgot I was watching a movie and just got completely lost in the story.

And then the ending happened.

The movie gives you another version of events that completely changes the way you look at everything you've just watched. It doesn't force an answer on you either, which is what makes it so interesting.

I've seen a lot of movies with twists, but this is one of the few where the twist isn't really the point. It's the questions it leaves you with afterward.

Curious which version of the story you guys chose to believe.
