Where do I start potty training for my 19 month old?

Hi all, just like the title says, I'm a new mum with a 19-month-old boy who has started talking a little bit. People around me have suggested different ways from telling them to tell you when they're going to go number 1 or 2 or like just randomly putting them on the toilet... but my baby can't really communicate to that sophisticated level.

Also what would l need to buy extra for this? I got a tiny toilet that sits on its own, you can pull the bowl out to clean after. But I'm also wondering if it would be better to get a bumper seat situation for the adult toilet bowl. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

Ps. Apologies for typos or errors since English is not my mother tongue.
