SSP Changes Clarification

Hi everyone

Quick question based on April SSP changes.

Before employee had to be off and is eligible for payment from day 4 ( due to 3 waiting days)

I looked it up today and it's very poorly explained on the LRA, ACAS and Governement websote. Under the impression that employees will still have to be off sick for atleast 4 days but all 4 days now will be paid once they have self certified

The way it reads online is that employees are entitled from day 1.

Wanted to clarify if an employee calls in sick one day we don't have to pay SSP rate for that and it can still be processed as unpaid.

Thanks

Level 7

Hi all.

I (M27) completed my CIPD level 5 about 2 years ago now while already working in a HR role( for the CV mostly). I didn't get a huge amount of value from it as most of the content was either stuff I already knew or just really fluffy stuff that sounds great on paper but to incorporate into a workplace in certain industries not always feasible ( especially if you are at mid level stage in your career) .

I always said I would never do the level 7 as the assignments in level 5 were just so frustratingly painful.

This was further backed up by the ones online were between £7000-£9000 which I thought was a bit much for the value I got out of the level 5. The closest in person one to me was an hour away which was 8 hours on a Monday and ask for the time off always felt like a bit of a hassle.

Recently I've decided to take on new employment and have just seen that an centre is running the course this September for £4000 online.

I wanted to know for anyone who is HR Officer or Advisor level was the level 7 worth it or is it one of those things that noone ever brings up to you at interview or shortlisting?

Thanks for any advice
