It's been a couple years since my last EDC pic. Still west coast, software engineer/architect, partially WFH, tinkerer, reader, and general curious person, definitely on the older side of the distribution curve of SWEs having started programming before Java and Linux existed.

SBGY009 on OEM bracelet : Just a gorgeous slim three hander with an amazingly accurate and consistent hand wind Spring Drive movement in an elegant yet robust 100m 44GS case. EDC since 2022-11

Customized Spydie Anthem : Unchanged for quite a few years now, this Anthem has been heavily customized with slab sides, spydie hole mod, custom sized Ti pivot, washer mod, and ajpurvis clip. The compression spring axis lock combined with the integral handle and great 'benza like blade in 20cv is perfect, right appendix carry next to pen, 2021-08
Autmog 36 Step Nose Energel : Approaching vintage status and purchased when he'd have stock for days(!), this guy pushed out the Saga and is staying strong, 2022-10
Prometheus SFPB : Customized by removing lanyard nub, left "appendix" carry in waistband, I tried a Ti pry bar very briefly, but went back to the tried and true tool steel one, 2021-08
Victorinox Vagabond with self-made lanyard, I've carried this model for verging on two decades. My first true EDC item, everything on this flows from this knife, watch pocket, 2010-01

Gun Deck: Kangaroo from Open Sea Leather but customized. I tried the Mini Gun Deck, but it was a bit too tight, so I cut down my regular Gun Deck to be about the same height as the Mini. 2024-04 or so.
CoolKey : Titanium key holder from Magnus. It cost a pretty penny, but it's the best one I've used by a long shot. Spring loaded ball detents on the screws allow tension adjustment with zero play. 2021-03
Apple Watch 7 : On a vintage(?) Nike Sport Band. It's getting a bit long in the tooth, but still going strong. 2021-10
Sunglasses in Custom Case : The newest addition. After decades of sunglass cases that were too big and too flimsy I bit the bullet and got one that's just right. I designed it and a master leather maker made the case to my specs. It's not 100% crush proof, but it'll stand up to any pressures in my bags and pockets. I hope this will last me the rest of my life. 2025-05
