I’ve been dealing with something and I want honest perspectives.

I know a few people who are atheists. Sometimes our conversations are completely normal, but then things shift — either they start insulting my beliefs, or they try to convince me that Islam is wrong, even though I’ve clearly said I don’t want to debate religion. I respect their views and don’t try to change what they think, so I expect the same in return.

There are also moments where they make sarcastic or suggestive comments about God — like indirect remarks or mockery — and it just feels unnecessary.

So my question is mainly for atheists:

Is this kind of behavior common, or is it just the individuals I’m dealing with? From your perspective, do some people act like this because of how they see religion, or is it more about personality and respect?

I’m not trying to generalize — I’m genuinely asking how you see it from your side.

Hello everyone, I need some honest advice. There’s a girl I like, and I told her how I feel. She didn’t reject me—in fact, she said that if it were only up to her, she would accept. The issue is her family. She didn’t tell her mom about me specifically. She just asked her in general what she thinks about marrying someone from a different wilaya, and her mom said it’s “impossible.” At the same time, I’m not in a position to marry right now anyway since I don’t have a stable job yet. So I’m kind of confused… she seems open, but her family clearly has a strong opinion about this, even without knowing me. Do you think it’s worth focusing on myself and trying again later, or is this already a dead end? What would you do in my situation? Thanks.
