A lot of students are still struggling to get IT jobs even after certifications
Lately I have been noticing that many students complete degrees, watch online courses, collect certifications, but still struggle to get shortlisted for IT jobs.
I found this article interesting because it talks about something I keep hearing from people already working in tech — companies now care more about practical skills than just theory. Especially in networking, automation, cloud, troubleshooting, and real lab experience.
Honestly, this shift makes sense. Knowing concepts is one thing, but being able to configure, troubleshoot, and work on real scenarios is completely different.
I have seen more people focusing on hands-on learning for CCNA, CCNP, network automation, Python for networking, etc., instead of only preparing for exams.
What do you guys think?
- Are certifications alone enough anymore?
- How important is hands-on practice while learning networking?
- Is automation becoming mandatory for network engineers now?
