Hi, I'm a second year beekeeper in southern ON and lost 1 of my 2 hives over the winter. My remaining hive seems strong despite the poor weather so far. I have ordered a nuc to replace my lost hive. When it arrives is there any downside to taking a frame of brood and a frame of honey/pollen from my strong hive and adding it to the new colony to give it a boost ? I think my strong hive could easily sustain the loss and might even benefit.
