Jellyfin Login problem fix
Note: this is just a fix that just happened to work for me, you might require another fix...just posting this here incase someone else benefits from it
Problem: After upgrading to 10.11.8, after 24-72 hours of the server running, new users devices (basically any new login attempts) would stop working and say "server not available at the moment try again later blah blah"
Hardware context: Jellyfin server running on a docker instance on a xeon server, nvme storage for all server related files, All jellyfin clients (mobile, web, android tv etc) face the same issues for new logins
Short term fix: restart the jellyfin server docker instance and the problem disappears for another 24-72 hours
The fix i found online that DIDN'T work: deleting some cache library files or whatever in the server folder, didn't work at all
THE ACTUAL FIX:
1- uninstalling/removing the "Reports" Plugin
2- restarting jellyfin instance
3- installing "Reports" Plugin again
4- restarting jellyfin instance
5- breathe in slowly...breathe out slowly
How i stumbled on the fix:
i spent a month theorizing and trying out things...the reports plugin had always been very slow for me (library of 3000+ movies and 1000+ tvshows), so i got used to barely using it. Just so happen to want to check it out again (i wanted to export excel sheet so i can track which trailers i'm missing)...but this time I noticed regardless of how long i waited, the reports page would not actually populate with any media data (usually I would have to wait a minute pre-update)...decided to just TRY and uninstall Reports and Reinstall it, and BOOM, now Reports works faster than it ever did before, and it has been a week so far and I have not seen the Login issue appear back again
P.S. Yes i already have jellystat but i like the easy Excel/CSV export feature built into Reports
