TS Clearance Application Potential Issues

Currently have a clearance and was recently submitted for a higher level clearance. I had a very brief prior military enlistment years ago that ended in an uncharacterized separation during boot camp. From what I remember, the administrative reason may have involved fraudulent enlistment/non-disclosure of pre-service medical history.

On my previous SF-86 and current SF-86, I described the reason for separation as medical because that was my understanding of why I was sent home. Looking back before my subject interview, I realize that may have been incomplete because it described the practical/medical reason but not the possible administrative basis.

I do not currently have the full DD214 showing narrative reason/RE code, only a shortened copy that does not list those details. I have tried to obtain the full version through the normal channels but have not been successful so far.

The underlying medical/mental health history was disclosed elsewhere on the SF-86 in detail. I plan to clarify this with the investigator during the subject interview and explain that I was not trying to hide the issue, but that my wording in the military section may have been oversimplified/incomplete.

For those familiar with the process: is proactively clarifying this during the interview generally the right approach? Is this typically viewed as an automatic disqualifier/current-clearance risk, or more as a candor/whole-person issue depending on the facts?
