Created a small but entire web app on Lovable in 1 weekend as a non coder. Feeling great
Hi There - This was my 1st experience with Lovable. I am a non coder so anything technical becomes like an everest task for me.
I tried creating a very small mini website on sending out positive vibes in the world, and receiving one in return, non monetizable web app called BlissPing.
Here are few challenges and learnings:
- The credits (5 daily) kept getting over and it kept prompting to upgrade
- I realized that the best way to do this is to plan your project (to the last possible detail) on Chatgpt/Perplexity/Claude and then move to Lovable for development
- I waited twice (9 hrs each) to get the credits to renew as the credits they give can NOT make even the smallest projects without upgrade
- I switched account twice, thinking that since I have better clarity on features, it would work in the 2nd one, but to no avail.
- Finally I switched to Student account - anyone who has .edu email can switch. This enables you to get 50% off. I signed up for the $25 - 100 credits plan and now I am able to develop worry free atleast for time being
- For adding domain name, I had to purchase the domain name separately ($12) which I did from Lovable UI itself (not sure who their partner is). I could have purchased on Namecheap for $7 but then I would have to add/redirect the domain and would take more time to launch
- Was able to add analytics as well to the same.
Just loved how easy it was to develop. Barring tokens which seem to be costly and you have this constant fear of running out of them, this is a great tool.
I had a very good experience with Replit as well, and was able to create a mobile app (Android), which I'll publish in another month's time. More on that later.
Pls let me know if you have any questions
