Testicular Cancer (residuals)

Hello Everyone!

Just need a bit of advice or to see what peoples opinions are.

Served in the Marines for 7 years, did two SPMAGTF rotations to Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, got out in 2024. In 2025, I found out I had testicular cancer and had to get my left little buddy removed from my body. Since then, I felt like complete ass in terms of mental clarity and state of mind. Did some bloodwork with my urologist and found out my T-levels were at 178.

Now, I’ve been on TRT, which was prescribed to me by a men’s clinic that I went to (the VA said my T-levels didn’t meet criteria).

Did some digging into the CFR 38 and found out that if one of your testicles is “non-functioning” following the removal of the other testicle due to a service connected incident, you would get rated 30%.

However, the issue that I am having is my PCP from the VA didn’t want to write me a nexus letter and my urologist wasn’t comfortable about it either. I tried asking the men’s clinic if they could but they couldn’t as well. I am up for my re-exam in the coming weeks and am wondering if this thing would get approved without that nexus letter.

My evidence includes, blood work tests from after my surgery (I have two of those, one was 228, the other 178), my most recent blood work which showed my T-levels being at 873. And Notes from my urologist confirming my T-levels were low.

Do I need to hire a company to provide a nexus letter or should I just wing it?
