Weird Food Habit

So I have a 4.5 month old female sib. When she eats her wet food she does a weird digging around the bowl right after she has eaten. Same pawing/digging motion she does when using the litter box. Anyone else's do this? Any idea why? Or is she just a little weirdo?

Another Question Re Spaying...

Me again with more questions about spaying.... I have only ever had male pets so i am new to the world of spaying. I have been told spaying is a lot more invasive (obviously) and painful than neutering.

I live in Toronto, ON and our Humane Society offers spaying for literally a quarter of the cost of our regular vet. $400 vs $1350. At the Humane Society they use different pain medication and do not send you home with any. They say that the pet is given an injection of the pain med before they leave and that lasts 24 hours and that is all they need. Where as, my regular vet sends you home with the typical vet painkiller metacam with enough for 5 days. Did you find that your kitten really needed the painkillers for the days after? I don't mind paying more if it means she is more comfortable etc. but i also dont want to pay more if it really is not required.

Lastly, I have also found a vet that does laparoscopic spaying but that is an additional $1,000. So around $2300. Is laparoscopic worth it in your opinion?

Spaying

I am curious how people kept their female sib quiet for two weeks after a spaying!

And does anyone have a surgical suit they would recommend as i want to avoid managing her in a cone for the two weeks.
