Scrimshaw Village
I'm running a one-shot tonight for my girlfriend's birthday. The setting is a homebrew world, set specifically in the village of Scrimshaw. I haven't made any maps in almost a year, so I apologize if it feels too amateur.
Scrimshaw Isle is renown for being an ancient resting place of ancient entities. Their bones litter the island, standing as the only remaining mark of their presence in a world that has forgotten them.
The island, and respective village, received their name from the long line of Rune-Scribes that come from the island, utilizing the bones to make talismans and other magically-infused implements, marked by wyrdic runes.
Though the Rune-Scribes work was wide-spread and sought throughout the world, the advancement of magical technologies has made their antiquated art almost obsolete. The village has since quieted, turning from a bustling center of arcane commerce to a quaint, if not dwindling, fishing community.
Yet the latent magics of Scrimshaw do not always stay at rest, and every so often, something stirs.
