High HCT/red blood cell- line at 4500ft elevation

Is there anything I should be doing differently to get my Red blood cell count lower? I live at about 4500ft elevation, don’t smoke, eat healthy, am 6ft tall and 185lbs, lean and strong. 53 years old. The only way for me to barely pass the HCT level, I got to over hydrate. I did start HRT, and my readings are high, but the HCT was already high before HRT. I did start to lower my HRT dosage , but HCT still high. I’ll keep chugging water, and test again in a few days.

New home in Tres Lagos McAllen or small Condo SPI

I’m planning on retiring closer to family in Brownsville in 2028. I’m currently living in the Southern California mountains and am really having a hard time finding a place in RGV that is visually appealing and with amenities. I It’s just me and the wife and like outdoor activities and traveling. We will both be 55 when we retire. We plan on spending up to 400k on a new home and am budgeting about $700 month in HOA’s.

Tres Lagos homes in McAllen and A few resort style Condos on SPI are what peaks my interest.

Also, I’m planning on spending June through Sept in California in my summer/vacation property , so only plan on being the RGV in the cooler months.

What would you recommend?

I off-ramped through DRP 1.0 with VERA at 52. I’m now 53 and am thinking of coming back as a rehired annuitant. Does anyone know if I worked till the year I’m 55, am I able to qualify for the rule off 55 and be able to withdraw from my TSP without the early withdrawal penalties?
