Seroma?

I’m 10 days post op and had side lipo. I seem to be healing well, but there are a few inches of skin under my armpit that are HARD.

I have no other concerning symptoms — no fever, no redness, not much blood. It’s just a long, HARD few inches of skin under my armpit. It’s a bit yellow from bruising.

I have a follow-up with my surgeon tomorrow morning, so OFC I will get professional medical advice, but did anyone have something like this? Was it a seroma, and did it go away on its own?

Thanks!

Slight green ooze (maybe from lipo?)

I’m 8 DPO. I am healing well so far and blood and ooze are diminishing. However, I did notice some darker green ooze alongside the yellow fat ooze in the area my side lipo.

I have no “bad” / abnormal pain or signs of infection otherwise.

Has anyone experienced this?

My Trip to the Boob Factory

Hi. My surgery was 5/28. It went great apparently (I was asleep, so…?)

The nurses and staff were amazing. You sign SO many forms, get your vitals taken, get an IV put in and fluids started.

The anesthesiologist came and talked to me. She was extremely nice. Then the surgeon came in and marked me up. I told once more that I wanted to stay on the “bigger” end of reduction. (He was kind of annoyed with me because we’d discussed it before BUT I wanted to be crystal clear about what I wanted before my body was changed— even if he couldn’t promise exactly what I wanted — and I’m glad I shared my vision for my body.)

Honestly, the marking made me the most anxious because it meant it was ACTUALLY HAPPENING. I hadn’t been too anxious before that. I just took deep breaths.

The nurse came to get me. I had to do two last-minute nervous pee trips lol. She wrapped me in a warm blanket — they try to keep your body temp up the entire time.

Time from waking into the OR to being totally out felt like 30 seconds.

The OR is EXTREMELY bright. They were playing relaxing spa music to create calm. They helped me up on the table and I was out VERY soon after that. I remember saying thank you to the medical staff in the room and then it was 😴😴😴

I woke up in recovery a few hours later. They said everything went great. I had burning in my sternum, which they said was from the lipo. They pushed a little oxy in my IV and prescribed gabapentin.

I was discharged maybe 45 minutes later. My husband said the surgeon told him it all went perfectly. I feel really grateful.

The surgery was at a surgical center in NYC and we stayed in a midtown hotel. We got an Uber XL and thankfully the driver drove slowly. I brought my breast surgery pillow with me thankfully.

I THINK I napped a bit when I got back but I don’t remember. I have a blood clotting disorder so we walked the halls (slowly) a lot. I didn’t feel a lot of pain! Just soreness and like an unfamiliar foreign feeling in my chest. We ordered Thai and watched a TON of Pop Culture Jeopardy. I was able to get up and down easily, go to the bathroom, I wasn’t bedridden. Just slow.

We had a next-day follow-up at the surgeon’s office. The PA said they looked great.

I’ve been home since Friday. The day after the surgery I walked about 2 miles total and Saturday I walked 3 total throughout the entire day, which included a very slow outdoor walk. I went to the supermarket yesterday (didn’t drive) just to get out of the house.

I have taken XL Tylenol and ibuprofen 3 times a day. I took gabapentin a few days but tapered off as it made me loopy.

I took a little sitz bath yesterday.

Overall the pain has been completely manageable — and I am a HUGE baby. It’s mainly just soreness.

My friends have asked if I feel different and I can’t completely tell yet. I’m bruised and wrapped in weird gauze and have some intermittent but normal bleeding. It’s nothing I’ve ever experienced before. My neck is still a bit tight in places no but that is because I’m instinctively hunching a bit to protect my chest (like if you’re about to catch a football… not that I’ve ever played football given my huge boobs and because IGDAF about football.)

Overall the experience has been WAY less scary than I had thought, and the pain is far less “pain” vs just tenderness and weirdness. I felt much worse *overall* when I had COVID or a bad flu.

I am experiencing “buzzing” in my right boob. It’s normal and painless — nerves regenerating — but I’ve been saying that the phone’s ringing off the hook.

I’m going to shower tomorrow but am really the most nervous about that.

Started as 32L, and I am waiting for the lab report to see how much was removed. The doctor estimated he would remove 1 to 1.5 points per side.

For reference I’m 47, 5’2 and about 160 lbs. (Stomach is SUPER bloated post surgery).

Anyone’s ribcage pushing into your diaphragm?

Hi!

I’m 32L (🫪🫩🫠), 5’1, 160 pounds.

My surgery is THIS FUCKING THURSDAY!
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

On my my left side, my ribcage kind of lightly pushes down into my diaphragm. It’s not painful. It’s just ANNOYING.

Has anyone experienced this, and did your surgery alleviate it?

(PLEEEEASE say yes lol.)

Pilates and big boobs?

My BR is less than 3 weeks from now. Right now when I try to do Pilates, my boobs push up against my neck and throat and make it really hard to keep my head up — even when I’m wearing a HARDCORE sports bra. (I’m at 32L, 5’1 and about 160 lbs.)

Did anyone find that Pilates and stuff like planks got easier to do after your surgery?

🧘‍♀️🙏😖

Hi. I’m in zone 6B and my container tulips have already bloomed. Is it too early to pull off out the bulbs to let them dry and store?

The bulbs are still a bit moist.

Thank you for your help.
