Reimbursement/refund question

We flew to ATL and then ATL to SXM for our honeymoon a few weeks ago. Boarded early but sat at the gate for an hour and a half until the pilot said they had to add fuel to account for a new flight plan with some weather near ATL. Ended up getting diverted after circling near ATL for over an hour - diverted to Augusta. Sat on the runway for 2hrs and missed our ATL to SXM connection. Next available flight from ATL to SXM was two days later, so we took Deltas offer to fly to Orlando and then took Southwest from MCO to SXM. Cost of Southwest flights was over $700 for both of us combined, and we had the hotel room in Orlando as well. Would Delta be required to refund or reimburse us for this? They have denied our initial request but doesn’t seem to be correct. Thanks!

We just got married are looking to combine our finances so we have a joint account while maintaining personal accounts. We both currently have a Chase Sapphire Preferred account, and both have a Southwest credit card via Chase (mine is the plus, hers is the premier).

We are looking at calling Chase to open a joint account and link our accounts so we can transfer points to each other. Would that allow us to only pay one annual fee for the Chase sapphire card?

Also, any advice on how to combine the Southwest cards since those are different tiers?

Potentially we could “combine” the Chase sapphire accounts and use that as our joint account while using the Southwest cards as our individual/personal cards, but not sure if this is the best strategy, or even possible.

Thanks!
