Advice: Teenage Boy Camping Pack List

Hello, everyone! I’m taking my nephews (their father/my brother is coming as well) and I, 35F, need some advice on what essentials are needed for the oldest nephew’s, 14, pack list. His father has never been camping. I have, but I have come to camping in adulthood. I want to put the onus on him to pack his own bag for his individual needs.

My brother and I are taking care of all the group camp essentials so there’s no need for him to worry about tent/sleeping bag, cooking gear, food, etc.

I just want this first his experience to be set up for success so he can decide if this is something he wants to try again without the sting of being underprepared clouding his perspective.

There is little to no cell service at our camp site and he’s been told this, but I’d like to offer up 1 or 2 low cost options for entertainment.

Any advice on essentials/entertainment would be appreciated.

Oh and we’ll be camping for 3 nights. Temps will range low of 64 to high of 87. Only 30% chance of rain first day we’re there. We’re planning on doing some hiking, swimming, and fishing.
