Looking for hero recommendations for pos 3/4/5 based on my playstyle

Hey guys, I’m trying to narrow down my hero pool and would appreciate some recommendations.

I'm a lowly casual Guardian 5 but I would like to improve. I mostly play position 3, but I’m also interested in learning some position 4 and 5 heroes so I can be more flexible in ranked role queues.

For context, my current offlane pool is mostly:

  • Axe (40% WR, 23 games)
  • Dawnbreaker (59% WR, 52 games)
  • Underlord (72% WR, 47 games)
  • Some Centaur (62.5% WR, 24 games) / Bristleback (52% WR, 21 games) / Tidehunter (33% WR, 18 games)

I’ve been having the most success when my hero has a clear job. I like heroes that can start fights, punish bad positioning, and have straightforward impact. I don’t really enjoy heroes that feel too passive or overly complicated/micro-heavy.

For pos 3, I’m looking for heroes that:

  • Can actually kill people or create kills
  • Have reliable initiation or lockdown
  • Don’t rely too much on teammates doing everything perfectly
  • Can climb well in ranked
  • Preferably aren’t super micro-intensive

For support, I’m looking for pos 4/5 heroes that:

  • Have reliable disables
  • Are simple and consistent
  • Can clear waves or jungle camps reasonably if the game gets messy
  • Can still scale a bit with farm
  • Aren’t just passive save bots

I tried thinking about heroes like Shadow Shaman, Lich, Ogre, Jakiro, Spirit Breaker, etc., but I’m not sure what would actually fit me best long-term.

So my question is:

Based on this playstyle, what position 3, 4, and 5 heroes would you recommend I learn?

Would appreciate suggestions for:

  1. A small ranked hero pool
  2. Heroes that are good for improving fundamentals
  3. Heroes that are simple but still high-impact
  4. Any heroes I should avoid based on what I described

Thanks!
