I messed up and got the Venture not Venture X, what do I do later?
Hi! I have very good credit, and have at least 3 trips coming up in the coming months (2 or 3 domestic, and 1 international). I was fairly certain that I would be approved for the Venture X, but was deliberating between getting the Venture X or another card. To be completely honest, what put the Venture X over the edge was the lounge access (and Global Entry, but at least the Venture comes with that).
I went through the Capital One pre-approval process, and for whatever reason I saw the normal Venture card as the Venture X. I'll be honest, I didn't know there was a dedicated portal for the Venture X until reading this subreddit. Either way, as soon as I saw that I had the Venture, I gave them a call, and as expected, tough luck, nothing I can do at this point.
My question is, I know I'll have to wait 6 months before even having the opportunity to apply for the Venture X. Should I wait for an upgrade offer? If I apply for it as a new, what would I do with this normal venture account? I'm definitely not inclined to close it, but I don't really have any experience with Capital One cards. Finally, do you think I should do this sooner rather than later?
I guess this also serves as a rant since I have a few trips coming up and was really itching for the lounge access.
