Modesty or aesthetic superiority complex?
I know harmless naman siguro yung intention behind these kinds of posts, pero ako lang ba yung medyo naiirita or uncomfy sa “modest aesthetic” content online? 😭
Parang minsan kasi it stops feeling like personal conviction and starts feeling like may unspoken “approved look” for women. Tapos laging same curated beige/minimalist aesthetic, same body type, same soft-girl vibe.
Maybe I’m just exhausted and overly sensitive lately, pero minsan these posts feel quietly performative and subtly judgmental instead of inspiring. Especially kasi real life church women don’t even dress like this most of the time 😭 and not all women have the same body type, lifestyle, budget, or even comfort level sa clothes.
Ewan ko, parang minsan women are already constantly being observed and evaluated, tapos pati “modesty” nagiging aesthetic branding na rin online.
