Painful crater/dip on back of wrist
the last photo is my right wrist to compare. The photos are really bad but I tried to highlight the crater
I have been trying to progress on my push ups and have been making zero progress because of this wrist pain. I think it started 3-4 yrs ago when I went through a brief calisthenic phase where I was doing elbow levers But I’m unsure if it’s related. I have a very noticeable dip/crater on the back of my left wrist. I thought maybe it could be a missing bone ligament or tendon that got dislocated or move. When I attempt to compare it to the same spot on my right wrist, it is relatively flat. But when I flex my left wrist forward there’s a very obvious crater/dip. It causes a lot of pain when I attempt to do push-ups or even just hold a push-up position to where I can barely hold my body weight much less push-up, and down.
I have tried stretching, resting, icing, and doing things such as a prayer stretch which hurt sometimes, but I can push through it. I have tried to see if it could be an occult dorsal ganglion cyst. Unfortunately, I am in a weird situation where I cannot seek medical help or have a medical professional look at it with an ultrasound. It’s been super frustrating. I can do fist push ups very well and they feel great but the pain on my left wrist when I bend it back or even when i bend it back with my hand hurts very much and is impossible to push through.
If anyone knows what this could be or has had this before or seen it please let me know. Any tips, tricks, cures or advice is very welcome. I’m at a loss of what it could be and what to do. My right wrist hurt sometimes as well and but it’s been doing good for a while so far. I apologize in advance if the photos aren’t that good it is hard to really highlight where it is when taking a photo and I do not have the best camera quality but I hope you’re able to see it relatively well. 🙏
