The bags stayed at the store. The pants came home.

I was invited to the soft launch of Houston's temporary store while the main boutique closes for a major renovation, and it seemed like the perfect excuse to finally share a few recent RTW additions.

The newest arrival was the taupe suede culottes, which I knew were coming home with me the second I tried them on. On the hanger I honestly didn’t have crazy high expectations but once I put them on I was all in.

The rest of the lineup:

- Rouge H leather shorts

- Rouge H leather vest

- Rouge H knit

- Double-collar cashmere zip sweater

What has surprised me most over the last year is how much I genuinely enjoy the RTW side of Hermès. I knew I would LIKE the RTW but I now LOVE the RTW. The bags are still what initially drew me to the brand, but the leather RTW, cashmere, and shoes have become just as exciting. Some of my favorite purchases lately haven't been bags at all.

The suede culottes absolutely won the day. Paired with the cashmere sweater, they're one of those outfits that feels effortless but incredibly special at the same time. Obsessed.

If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd walk into Hermès, pass on bags, and leave more excited about suede pants, I probably wouldn't have believed you but here we are 🤷🏼‍♀️ I actually turned down two non QBs bag offers but those suede pants were coming home with me 😂

Finally found the perfect match for my ombré lizard mules 🦎

Ever since I got the ombré lizard mules, I’ve casually kept an eye out for a matching bag.

I passed on a few options because I kept coming back to the fact that I cared just as much about the silhouette as the skin itself. I didn’t want a Constance for this, and the Roulis versions I found weren’t quite right either.

An ombré lizard Birkin would probably be a grail piece one day for me, but I also wasn’t trying to spend exotic Birkin money right now just to check matching a pair of shoes off of my list.

The Mini Verrou finally checked all the boxes for me. Ombré lizard, palladium hardware, complete with box and cites, and a shape that feels a little more understated and architectural.

Hermès leather RTW is becoming a serious weakness

Had an appointment at Hermès yesterday to try on an insane dress my SA had brought in for me from another store.

Deep navy lambskin, lace-up back, fits like a glove. The leather is unbelievably soft in person and the lace-up back makes the fit feel almost custom. We started playing around with styling and paired it with a navy Hermès tie I bought a few weeks ago, which somehow made the whole look feel even more Hermès to me. Slightly sharp, slightly androgynous, edgy but still elegant.

I was also offered an En Piste clutch while I was there, which has been on my non-QB wishlist since it debuted on the runway. They had black available and it was beautiful in person, but I’ve really had my heart set on a fun color for that bag. My SA said orange is coming eventually and put me down for one when it arrives, so now I wait patiently…ish.

The more time I spend with Hermès, the more I find myself drawn to the special leather pieces. Bags were what originally pulled me in, but lately it’s become the leather RTW, the craftsmanship, and the more design-forward pieces that I get the most excited about collecting.
