Movies that depict dissociation accurately

I’m curious about dissociative experiences and would like to understand what people who dissociate go through. Is there a film that accurately portrays this?

North Bengaluru book lovers met today and had a great time.

Yes, it happened!

We met at Sankey Tank at 8:00 am, took a stroll, read our books till 10:30, and then went for breakfast.

Dosas, idlis, filter coffee, and conversations about accounting, alcohol, IT, shady apps, and everything in between.

Pretty solid first meet I think? 😊

Book meet-up in sankey tank tomorrow?

Hi North Bengaluru bookworms!

How about we meet at Sankey Tank tomorrow morning for a reading sesh before the sun goes crazy? Say around 8am-ish? We can read till noon or so by ourselves and end with a group hangout. We could grab lunch or chill for a bit on Sampige Road.

If there are at least 5 people who are sure to show up, this will happen. If not, I give up. :P I’ve never hosted book meet ups before and this is my first.

If you are interested in joining, leave a comment with the name of the book you are currently reading, what area you are commuting from and what time you will be able to join us at. Let me know if you have any other ideas or suggestions.

Bonus: if you have no books to read, I can lend you a book.

Here’s a list of books you can borrow from me:

Around the world in eighty days - Jules Verne
The green mile- Stephen King
To the lighthouse - Virginia Woolf
The metamorphosis - Franz Kafka
The remains of the day - Kazuo Ishiguro
The lathe of heaven - Ursula le guin
Emma - Jane Austen
Wuthering Heights - Emily Brontë
The kite runner - Khaled hosseini

Everyone here wants deep conversations and genuine connection…

Everyone here wants deep conversations and genuine connection.

How do they open these deep conversations?
Just “Hi”, “Hey”, “Hey there”.

Sometimes, a version of “I’m new to Bangalore” or “I’m bored”. How is any of this supposed to lead to deep conversations. 🥲

Making new friends safely as a woman?

This is a question to women on this subreddit. I’m new here and made a post yesterday about a potential meet-up. The responses and DMs I got didn’t feel safe to me. Are there any woman-only alternatives out there? I’d love to make male friends too, but then most of them come across as unsafe? Maybe some of it is unwarranted. How do you stay safe from shady people? Both men and women? Forget about vibing with someone! I think the bigger hurdle is simply knowing who is safe and chill and who is not when it comes to making new friends. Sounds so complicated rather than fun to me at this point. 😕

Anyone up for a Korean lunch tomorrow?

I’m craving the chulpan from Hae Kum Gang, which is on Castle Street, close to Bridge Road.

About me: I work in tech but don’t want to talk about tech, lol. It’s boring. I like to chat about anything else, really. My interests include TV shows, reading books, movies and music, as most people. I’m currently watching Beef on Netflix and reading Ursula K. Le Guin’s book, “The Dispossessed”. This should give you an idea of what kind of person I am?

What I really want is just a good lunch. I could go by myself but then I thought why not make new friends and I like talking. And why not over Korean food. Let me know if anyone would like to join me. Dm me.

Not looking to date anyone. Stay away if you are. 🧿👹
