Hi, I’m a 47-year-old female, generally healthy. I had my annual checkup 2 days ago and my doctor noticed my resting heart rate is consistently around 42–47. She mentioned to keep an eye on it and get it checked if it drops lower than 45.
My Apple Watch readings show around 42 in the morning and it goes up to around 47 a couple of times during the day. These numbers repeat pretty consistently.
I’m not an athlete, but I stay pretty active. I do strength training 3 times a week, yoga 2 to 4 times a week, and walk about 4 to 5 miles daily, nothing very intense.
I haven’t had symptoms like dizziness, fainting, or unusual fatigue. But since the appointment, I’ve been feeling anxious and now I’m noticing some chest discomfort, especially when I focus on it, which is making me worry more.
My cardiologist appointment isn’t for another 10 days.
Has anyone else had a similar resting heart rate without being an athlete?
Did it turn out to be normal for you?
Did anyone in this situation actually end up needing a pacemaker, and how was life after that?
Trying to understand if I’m overthinking this or if it’s something I should take more seriously.
