Swan Dyke Trail - Pitt Addington Marsh
Hello, in a couple of weeks I'll be heading by bike to Pitt Addington Marsh with a small group of gravel cyclists. My initial plan was to follow the blue arrows north and east along the river, back track and then go down Rannie Road. I now see it may be possible to return via Swan Dyke then down to Ladner Road and Rannie Road, the red arrow. I tried a similar route many years ago and had to backtrack from the Swan Dyke-Nature Dyke intersection, the bottom of the heart shaped lagoon, and I don't want to repeat that. I've looked for recent trip reports for Swan Dyke and I don't see anything.
Any advice/recent knowledge about cycling along Swan Dyke will be gratefully received.
The whole route is transit accessible, King George to LaFarge Lake Douglas via Golden Ears Bridge and Pitt River Bridge for those interested.
Edit for reply. Thanks to all for the guidance and the photos too. I think the drift of this is to give it a go. Your collective replies mean I can tell my cycling pals that we may need to turn round part way. Always good to get the excuses in ahead of time. We'll be just over halfway at that point so it's better to go forward than back.
I'll provide feedback when we get back, possibly from Red Truck, as we'll be ending our transit journey at VCC Clark.
