Gear Between Quest Packs.

I've finished up a solo First Light campaign and am running two groups through First Light and Gathering Storm. I'm using the rule of one treasure per room and furniture. My solo team is kinda stacked. I have them all geared with melee, ranged, all the armor they can handle and a bunch of potions.

Should parties just keep all of that going forward because I can see this going crazy. How do you more experienced players handle it or just let it go? I'm worried about the players running out of loot/interest since they are already loaded with things. I am thinking about letting them build/upgrade a fort and give it abilities for a gold sink like a re-roll die per quest. So Zargons that have been through this, what did you do?

Door Tokens?

I just started with Heroquest by finally picking up First Light on a whim at Target. Wanted it for years and I feel like a silly person for waiting. Been enjoying it but running into a minor issue.

Problem is with all the doors everywhere can sometimes make the board feel cluttered especially in busy rooms with like the Warrior room in Border Fort. I've started just using the pawn bases for open doors and have been wondering how others have been dealing with it if that has ever come up in your games. I've been thinking about 3d printing some thin tokens to put down to mark them but I don't know. Maybe it's just a me thing?
