10gbps ethernet to usb-c adapter?

I recently upgraded to fiber internet and I'm now getting ~8gbps down. I've only got 2 thunderbolt ports on my PC, so I was looking for an adapter from ethernet (rj45 connector) to usb-c. So far I've found this:

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Compatible-Thunderbolt-Real-World/dp/B0G1WJFR5V?crid=18TUJBRQPYGUX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qwEx_pIGNlBMCyoowVvpZxjlgpXNPGQk6et5tiOEud_CRJwDNgawvHaE6HzicFn6L3Zyu-ri-P7SHAbrEp9zpL9QFQPLNqOQT428cWhRSGfCt9eG8aqO2ubMIHm9K--VDRxMQiWDeSB8lqyJTLQmcEPxhQ0ys0gB3xKRplJvwfrwnODBk4t28tyI9mKVEQovi933C07JzHKOYSGNvveadyxi1tgdqGdnDghVf8Z272I.Sd0mSxaju1FxmeBlXuu4g6i2zwcPQb3m-jfI9zpQBe0&dib_tag=se&keywords=10+gbps+ethernet+to+usb+c&qid=1780805620&sprefix=10+gbps+ethernet+to+usb+c%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-3#averageCustomerReviewsAnchor

Am I being silly? Wouldn't such a small adapter get insanely hot? Should I just use a much cheaper adapter rated for 5gbps instead? I've read that the real-world performance of those generally only cap out at ~3.6gbps, so it feels kinda like a waste to not get as much speed as I can out of this internet.
