Besides low wages or toxic boss/work environment, why did you turn down a job offer when you have been actively looking for work for a long time?

Franklin was one of my favourite shows growing up. I decided to rewatch the series 20 years later for nostalgia and see what details I missed as a kid.
One specific scene that stuck out to me was in the episode “Franklin’s Nickname” (when Franklin and his friends give each other nicknames). At snack time, Franklin was eating raisins and said, “These raisin boxes keep getting smaller” Rabbit says, “My carrots keep getting shorter” then Badger says, “Try putting peanut butter on one of these crackers this small.”
Why did it stick out to me? Because Shrinkflation is exactly what’s happening everywhere right now (and has for awhile). It went over my head as a kid but now as an adult I kinda find it funny that it was even implied in this episode.
If we break it down:
Smaller raisin boxes = fewer raisins
Shorter carrots = package downsizing
Smaller crackers = poor quality, probably break easily, and peanut butter could also taste different
all while prices remain the same or continue to rise.
It all sounds too familiar in today’s world which is sad. I know I’m probably putting too much thought into this, but I had to bring it up because I thought it was interesting. I wonder what other today’s issues Franklin is aware of lol.
