Agoda Charges (BDO/EW)
Booked via Agoda recently and I hope you can help me understand or share insights
So I had two bookings cause we extended 1 more day. According to Agoda it's not possible to change dates anymore so ok I just booked separately for the extended day.
Booking #1 - used Amex cashback
Booking #2 - Eastwest Platinum Visa
Now the first difference I saw between the 2 cards, the Agoda receipt from the Amex booking was reflected in PHP, the receipt for EW in USD.
Second difference was that in my EW credit statement there was an additional 2.5% increase compared to the receipt.
Some questions:
- for EW is that an additional foreign service fee? I thought cross border lang dapat na 1%? (which Amex doesn't have)
- And on that note bakit one reflected USD, the other PHP for it to be considered foreign transaction? Currency on checkout for both was in PHP. It's for the same hotel. And then bigla naka USD yung isa. Is there a setting on Agoda to charge as strictly PHP only?
- Recommendations and tips na rin po for hotel bookings, what's your go-to platform na less hassle? Thanks!
