The idea that it is even remotely okay to hit your kids is ridiculous. I could go on and on about the decades of research showing it’s not effective and causes life long damage but I shouldn’t have to. The fact that you are their parent should be reason enough to not want to intentionally inflict pain. It’s even more infuriating when they try to justify it saying shit like “they deserved it, they have to learn, they have to listen to me” imagine a husband saying that about hitting his wife. Most people would agree the husband is a piece of shit but when it’s about a parent and their kid suddenly it makes it ok? Gtfoh.

I still have never heard a good argument in support of god. It seems reasonable to assume it’s because god doesn’t exist. But I like to think I have an open mind so I’d like to hear some peoples best arguments. Give me just one reason to make me believe there’s even a possibility of a god. I’ll address a few common talking points here. Feel free to address those or come up with your own. I just want to hear strong arguments.

1. Unless you have a really good argument, the bible is not evidence. We dont know for sure what happened 2000 years ago. We cant and shouldnt just assume the bible is true and accurate.
2. What started the universe if not god? Again like with the Bible no one knows the truth. We can hypothesize all day but we can’t just fill in the blanks with our own answers.
3. Nothing about god makes any logical sense if you think about it for more than a minute. Nothing about heaven makes sense. Nothing about Christianity actually makes sense. Think about it, if god was real why is the world on fire? Why have millions of people bee suffering throughout all of human history? If there really was a god why does it make any sense that the world is the way it is?

Also please note: Yes this argument has been done many times before but I’m looking to have a conversation, a back and forth. Please don’t link any video or page because I don’t want to see it. I can’t ask the person in the video follow up questions. If you have a video you like just tell me it’s strongest point and I’ll tell you why it’s ridiculous.

It really annoys me when I see ppl do this. It’s crazy people will just completely disregard everyone and all consequences just to avoid being slightly inconvenienced. It’s especially annoying when I’m the exact opposite.

I have two examples of this and funny enough they both involve drivers on the road. One irl and the other I saw online. But my pet peeve extends way beyond just on the road.

The first example is the other day I was driving on a highway type two lane road. The right lane was backed up at least a mile and the left lane was clear. I was using gps and knew I had to turn right in over a mile. Naturally I go in the left lane thinking the traffic wasn’t backed up that far. As I got closer to the exit I realized I was not going to easily be able to get into the right lane and I was fully prepared to miss my exit and reroute. Then near the front I see some absolute dickhead at a full stop in the left lane trying to squeeze and force their way in. And it was absolutely baffling this person was doing it. It is wrong in so many ways and yet that person just didn’t care. God forbid they are slightly inconvenienced and have to find another way. The worst part is their little strategy basically relies on the other person not being as big of an asshole and so just let them in.

And the other example was a video online of some delivery driver at the door. Some guy honks at him cause he’s blocking the way and delivery driver yelled back. Ppl in the comments were on the delivery persons side for some crazy reason.

Everyone else shouldn’t have to be inconvenienced just so you don’t have to be. And if I’m being crazy rn just let me know.
