I have a 2011 Nissan Altima 3.5L SR Coupe without 135k miles and an automatic CVT.
Yesterday, I replaced the compressor component kit which included the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, drier, proper amount of oil and all o rings. I also wired in a new pigtail plug to connect to the compressor.
After vacuuming the system for 1 hour I tried to refill the r134a with 2 cans but it seems that I can only get about 1/3 of a can before it stops filling. My AC gauges were saying it was about 100 psi on the low side and my compressor will still not turn on. I have run the Nissan IPDM test and can hear the compressor click five times, so I know the compressor is getting power and I am suspecting it's not turning on bc of not enough refrigerant.
Should I just take it to the shop and pay the 300$ they quoted me to fill the system the rest of the way? Any ideas how to jump start the compressor without frying the computer? Thanks in advance.
I have a 2011 Nissan Altima 3.5 L Coupe with the automatic CVT and 130k miles. I am unsure about the vehicles maintenance record as the guy I bought it from did not speak much English. I have had it for 2 months.
I've noticed that sometimes when shifting from first to second gear there is a one to two second hesitation before the car reacts to the pressing of the gas pedal. I don't hear any noises when this is happening and there isn't much of a jerk. I checked the transmission fluid level and it is reading full.
Should I do a drain and refill with my already purchased NS2 fluid or not and do I need to start saving for a new transmission? Please help me diagnose this issue and thank you. If you need any more info I'll be watching this thread closely.
