Anyone have experience with hydrofurnaces, specifically gradient sync boiler

Been going back and forth on whether to bastardize my home’s heating setup a bit.

I’m due to replace both my forced air condensing furnace and natural draft HWT, and started looking at one of those combi boiler + hydronic air handler setups. Basically combi mounted on an air handler

Main driver is I’ll be redoing flooring in the master, living room, and basement and would like to add in-floor heat while I’m at it.

In theory, this setup would handle:

Domestic hot water

In-floor heating

Forced air heating (via coil)

Then down the road, when I swap the AC to a heat pump, the boiler becomes backup heat + handles domestic and radiant.

I know it adds complexity and maintenance, but I’m not too concerned about that (comfortable with HX cleaning and annual flushes). Comfort and flexibility are the big selling points for me.

I’ve been out of resi for a bit and haven’t come across any of these in the wild—curious if anyone here has installed or lived with a setup like this.

Am I overcomplicating things and should just keep it simple with a furnace + tank? Or are more systems starting to trend this way?

Also looked into air-to-water heat pumps (Viessmann, Mitsubishi, etc.) but pricing still seems pretty steep for what you get.

Appreciate any input or real-world experience. Let me know what you guys think, good or bad let me have it
