feeding help
so i got an l6 mantis on sunday which was fed almost only moths in her life and as im waiting for my (eldest stage)wax worms which will arrive tomorrow and turn into moths in a week if im lucky
im trying to feed my mantis roaches (seller said she may eat it if you swing it in front of her face like its flying) but she is refusing (at first she caught a roach bit it and threw it and sometimes she tries to catch one but didnt pick any other than that first one and mainy just 100% ignores them) and her abdomen is quite flat already so im stressed she wont eat the roaches at all and starve to death eventually
its really hard to get flying prey in my country, we can only get flightless fruit flies
i also thought maybe i can get her d. hydei if she keeps refusing but.. shes 6cm and theyre like 4mm i dont know if she'll even try catching something so small (and obviously theyre not nutritious enough for such a big mantis but i just want her full before the moths hatch)
the mantis is also female and pretty chill. its an idolomantis diabolica BUT i had one before and raised her no problem i just think this one is picky because i got her at an older stage so she ate moths mostly while i got the last one as l2 and i raised her on roaches so she had no problem with them
so i want to know if any of you have some ideas what i could do
obviously i wont give up but maybe someone had a similiar case or has any ideas for help
sorry for mistakes and lack of interpunction english isnt my first language
