Got these CC Morgan Dollars as a gift, need help understanding their value
Hey everyone, I am completely new to coin collecting and don't know much about coins at all.
These two Morgan Dollars (1878-CC and 1879-CC) were given to me as a gift. I did some basic research and found out that they are from the Carson City Mint, but unfortunately, the previous owner told me they polished them.
Even though they are polished, they still have very crisp details. I wanted to ask the experts here
What makes these specific years/mint marks so special or rare?
Based on the photos, how heavily does the polishing hurt the value?
What is a realistic cash price I should expect a local coin shop to offer me for the pair?
