Virgin Islands Advice: Things To See/Do, Best Beaches & Restaurants on St Thomas, St Croix, St Maarten, Antigua, Dominca, & Puerto Rico.

Hello. I'm going on a cruise with the family in mid June '26 and was hoping for some tips from people that have been to these places before. Here are the destinations; St Thomas, St Croix, St Maarten, Antigua, Dominica, Puerto Rico. We will have 8am to 5pm at each destination.

Looking for;

  • Nice beaches (with bathrooms, place that serves food, beach bar (with live music would be awesome).
  • Places with nice views for pics.
  • Must try foods or restaurants.
  • Anything historical to see.
  • Or anything worth seeing or fun to do.

For St Thomas (ship will dock at Crown Bay) I was debating on renting a jeep with guide (7 hours, includes drinks, chairs, snorkel gear) because I heard theres a lot to see on the island instead of taking the airtaxi's because I didn't want to wait around for them to fill up & drop off people. I wasnt sure how easy it is to get private taxis on the island so advice there would be great. I was thinking of seeing Megans Bay, Coki Beach (for snorkeling) and either Sapphire Beach, Secret Harbour or Lindquist Beach for maybe a less crowded beach. Taking quick pics at Drakes seat, and Charlotte Amalie Overlook. Then hit up some shopping on the way back to the ship. We will see Megans Bay for sure but advice on the best other beaches to visit for snorkeling and that are not so crowded but with bathrooms would be great. I know I cant see them all if we hang out so I want to narrow it down to 2-3.

For Dominica we were going to do the River Tubing down the rainforest excursion offered by the cruise. This is about 4 hours starting at 8:30am. Whats a nice beach to hang out here after the excursion.

For Antigua, I heard Dickensons Beach is nice.

I haven't finished researching yet so any advice would be great.

Thanks!
