Veteran player thinking about returning, but having doubts ...

Hello everyone!

I lastly played PUBG in like 2019 or 2020 and I am lately feeling the urge to come back to it.

However, I am partly following this sub and seeing all these posts makes me wonder: What do I have to expect from the game compared to when I lastly played it back then?

I've been there from the early Early Access days and yeah.. I think I only stopped playing because everyone else I played with did.

So, how are some things nowadays?

  • What about the overall "mood" among the players?
  • What is the situation with cheaters and such?
  • How are the queues looking right now?
  • What about map selection and TPP / FPP?
  • Is there still a ranked mode and is it even playable solo?
  • Is mid-combat leaning (not to get an angle, but to wiggle) still "OP"?
  • How bad are the mictrotransactions? Are they somewhat avoidable unless you develop some kind of FOMO or similar?

I always loved the military and tactical aproach the game had and the seriousness of the game, but I feel it's kinda gone with all those wild skins left and right.

This post got a little longer than I initially wanted it to be, I'm sorry.

I'm looking forward to your answers and maybe some discussions.

Thank you in advance and have a wonderful day! :)

EDIT: Playing EUW region, btw.
