Buddy dropped a piston while removing it

Working on my friend's car and while he was pulling one on the pistons out he dropped it and dented the edge. I know dented piston heads are generally a lost cause, and I am going to take it to a machine shop tomorrow and ask them to look at it but I figured I can get some surface level advice on it.

The damage is very local and only goes inward and upwards so it wouldn't cause scoring to the cylinder wall but might cause damage to the head.

Looking for outside more experienced opinions before I take it to a machine shop or buy a replacement
