take Saber Hole: When a monster(s) would be Summoned, while you control an "X-Saber" monster: Negate the Summon, and if you do, destroy that monster(s).

How would this counter trap resolve if it used on a Monster that cannot be destroyed by card effect? Does Saber hole just not work in this situation? Would the summon be negated but the card not destroyed?
