Glass left inside hatch door

Last week the rear windshield shattered in my 2021 Acura RDX. I went through glass insurance and Safelite sent a technician to my house to replace it yesterday.

The technician was very professional and informed and he explained that he wouldn’t be able to get the glass that fell inside the hatch door out.

He recommended that I take it to the dealership or body shop so they can remove the entire door and basically flip it upside down to get the glass buildup out.

Has anyone ran into this issue? My car sounds like a baby rattle whenever I open/close the hatch and going over bumps. It’s pretty unsettling.

Shatter Rear Windshield - 2021 Acura RDX SH-AWD

Bought new in May of 2021 and put 65k miles on it. Waited out the whole day of rain to go out for dinner and it just shattered as soon as I closed my driver's side door.

Going to call the local dealer tomorrow to see if it can be replaced ASAP

EDIT: Visited 2 of my local dealers and was denied free service. One dealer said they have an internal bulletin for 2019-2020 models only.

I have glass insurance so I filed a claim and will get it repaired this weekend with no additional costs
