I am in editing HELL. Advice needed and appreciated from decor experts.
I am having a major problem with my living room space. I recently replaced my sofa, chair and ottoman for 2 identical sofas in a light gray velvet. I have an eclectic/glam style and use mixed metals, greens and purples. My ceilings are very tall and painted black and the space is open. Floors are hardwood throughout except the kitchen tile is a dark charcoal, neutral gray island and quartz counter tops. The photos are not accurate in showing the true colors due to lighting variations when taking the pics.
The first photo is what it looked like with my old sofa/chair. The second pic is AI generated of my actual living room (using the sofas I ended up buying) but this image is how I want the room to feel.
The ENTIRE problem arose from how horribly the back of the sofas are constructed. I ONLY wanted to hide the backs! The console tables was the only solution I could think of but I hate how it looks. One is behind the sofa that’s in front of the windows and the other console is behind the sofa that is exposed to my kitchen area. The rest of the pics are to show my slow descend into a styling nightmare! My brain feels like mush.. I am literally unable to make a decision confidently. I’ve included pics of kitchen/back splash to show how I use the mixed metals.
I have a ton of decor items all over (intentionally) at the moment and have spent the last few days moving things trying to make the space have the atmosphere of the AI photo. I have been editing all day but it feels forced and lacks cohesion. Suggestions?
