Ice me out and burn for me hockey duet gripe
Okay so I finally revisited the 2nd book {burn for me by melissa adams} and finished it and I gotta say to those who've read it: was the ending of the Star Shine plot completely underwhelming?
I feel like her being attacked again was just thrown in there and it was so rushed like, her going to the bathroom alone was dumb and last time she was attacked so why did they let her do it again. And then what do ya know, she gets attacked and choked again and now she's kidnapped. Like not one stray person in the gala of the year party found it odd some dude in a hockey mask had an unconscious female slung over his shoulder? But then it seemed like things would gear up to be dramatic when Bex woke up at Star Shine even though little is left before the end of the book, only for her dad to not even attempt to take Bex out with him and he just shoves her away and offs himself. I would fully expect a character that was fleshed out like that, so crazy he had these long term breeding plans and micro managed these kids, to off her too if he was going to die anyway
Then in the timeskip we get nothing about the dismantle of Star Shine except that his estate was liquidated, Kurt was in max prison, and Kevin was pending. I would have wanted something even if it was about Bex refusing interview requests on the exposition of the former top celebrity agency and everything done behind the scenes. I also think that leaving the plotline unfinished after Kurt was put in jail and the last attack and kidnapping never happened would have been better than a last minute bow on top of it
The first book is {ice me out by melissa adams}
