So after almost 6 weeks. I decided to get in touch with my congressman's office to get them involved in getting my passport unstuck from the "in process" hell.

Has anyone ever had to go this route and does it actually work? They responded already saying they have submitted an inquiry into it.

Just curious if anyone has ever had to do this and if so was it successful?

Passport renewal was accepted by the state dept on 4/29. I just called and they said it is in the Chicago processing center. Told me I can't upgrade to expedited but only upgrade the shipping. Just sharing not complaining.
