3D embroidery issue
Hello,
can someone help me with 3D embroidery? We’re having a problem where, on the underside, the thread forms knots and bunches up in different places and isn’t properly tightened. It happens completely randomly—sometimes when the thread breaks and we have to go a few stitches back, and sometimes even when it doesn’t break.
What could be the issue? The program or the machine? Is the thread tension too loose? Everything looks fine on the top side—our only concern is that after several washes, the embroidery might loosen and not hold together nicely anymore.
And one more question: I often read that an edge run is needed for the underlay. Is it necessary for 3D embroidery, or is it better without it? We’ve tried both, and the embroidery looks nicer without it—the only issue we have are the knots. When we added an edge run, we had a lot of problems with thread breaking and the embroidery looked messy.
